Cat litter is used in the litter box to absorb faeces and urine and keep the box hygienic. There are different types of cat litter such as clumping cat litter, crystal litter and pellets.
Clumping cat litter is the most common type and is usually made of bentonite. Crystal sand is made from silicate minerals and has a slightly higher absorption capacity than clumping cat litter but does not have the advantage of clumping. Pellets are made from pressed wood pulp and have a slow decomposition time.
Regardless of the choice of litter, it is important to clean the litter box and change the litter regularly to keep the litter box clean and fresh and prevent bacterial growth.
